Reference map of Tasmania’s salmon and finfish aquaculture impact zones 2023

This detailed and well-researched map, produced by the Tasmanian Alliance for Marine Protection and Tasman Peninsula Marine Protection, shows the areas of Tasmania currently in use, and threatened by planned expansion.

A copy of the map has been delivered to all Tasmanian State MP's, with a letter drawing attention to the compelling scientific evidence that demonstrates Macquarie Harbour and Long Bay, Port Arthur are unsuitable for salmon farming, and urging that government take action not to renew these environmental licences in November.

All MP's have been asked to advise TAMP of their comments on the map, and to outline their position on protecting Tasmania's coasts and waterways from the damaging effects of the aquaculture industry.
