UnCage Storm Bay
Step Up to Stop salmon industry expansion in Storm Bay
Paddle out postponed, now on 8 December
Beach rally and Paddle Out: 11am Sunday, 8 December, Cremorne
The multinational salmon industry in Tasmania is planning another big expansion - this time with fifty open net fish pens further north in Storm Bay than ever before.
Neighbours of Fish Farming has stepped upon to support communities that could become reluctant hosts to huge salmon feedlots with all the noise, light, marine debris and pollution that comes with them.
The campaign aims to halt approval for multinational producer, Petuna, installing feedlots off Frederick Henry and Norfolk bays. We are working with local community groups in the area, including South Arm-based Friends of the Bays.
- You can show your feelings about this expansion at Cremorne, 11am on Sunday 8 December at a beachside rally and paddle out with dozens of craft ranging from paddle boards to kayaks and vessels of all sizes protesting against the expansion.
