Save the Skate film showings, Hobart and Launceston
Environment Tasmania invite you to the premiere of a powerful new short film with screenings this July in Hobart and Launceston.
Directed by Josh "Bones" Murphy and produced by award winning filmmakers Land and Sea For All, in partnership with Patagonia, this film tells the story of the Maugean skate - a rare and ancient species found only in Tasmania's Macquarie Harbour.
This documentary combines art, science, and heartfelt storytelling to bring visibility to a creature that has survived for millions of years but now faces an uncertain future.
Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring scientists, artists and advocates. Audience members will also have the chance to win a one-of-a-kind artwork by Indigenous artist Rueben Oates, created especially for the film tour.
